Job description

Job Summary:

Performs maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment, in areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, and grounds-keeping.

Schedule options:

6 AM - 2 PM, 7 AM - 3 PM, or 8 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities:

1. Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
2. Ensures building and equipment meet safety, security, fire regulations, and policies.
3. Makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to supervisor.
4. Performs carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance and repairs such as repairing furniture, constructing shelves, installing switches, replacing plugs, and other basic appliance repairs. Applies paint and other finishes, repairs drywall, disassembles, and reassembles equipment, replaces finishing materials such as linoleum.
5. Cleans external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks, and parking lots using manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels, and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow, and other refuse.
6. Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering.
7. Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.
8. Performs other related duties as required.
9. Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
10. Supports the mission of Lydia Home.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• General construction or prior facilities maintenance experience
• Specialized experience with plumbing, electricity, and HVAC maintenance
• Familiarity with common cleaning products and equipment
• Mechanical skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to regularly lift items over 50-100 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background checks
