How You'll Perform the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor plans and performs work that requires thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical or electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation and the application of electrical or electronic equipment such as motors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers, electronic inspection units, etc.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Maintenance Manager and communicates status of daily scheduled work orders and emergency tasks.
- Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
- Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
- Creates, schedules, and follows up on maintenance assignments, breakdown work orders, Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) work orders in CMMS (PMC).
- Participates in daily shift meetings, prioritizes and reviews work orders and emergency tasks.
- Directs, maintains, and enforces the Safety Program for the Maintenance Department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all Maintenance Technicians.
- Provides training, direction and assistance to Mechanics and Electricians.
- Experience with relay logic design, three-phase motors, controls, and drives.
- Demonstrates proficiency in core maintenance fundamentals in hydraulics, pneumatics, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
- Supervises the repair and services on all types of electrical equipment, plant instrumentation, and PLCs.
- Ensures all maintenance and repair activities comply with OSHA, Federal, Local and plant safety standards.
- Follows GMP in compliance with all food safety requirements.
- Supervises and schedules daily operations for the Maintenance Department employees to meet planned goals and respond effectively to emergencies.
What We Need From You
- High School Graduate or GED required; College Degree a plus.
- Must have mechanical skills background.
- Must have basic understanding of 440/480v systems.
- Must be able to lift 25-40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be team-oriented and self-motivated.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have 1-3+ years supervisory experience.
