MSI Express, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations at a food manufacturing plant. You will lead a team of technicians, ensure preventive maintenance, and coordinate with Production to keep machinery and facilities in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years in a food manufacturing facility with high-speed packaging equipment, motor controls and electronics.
• 1–3 years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, TPM, inventory and scheduling processes.

Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within a food manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition to support production efficiency and safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead a team of maintenance technicians in maintenance activities and machine repair.
• Train maintenance employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Maintenance Systems: Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation, scheduling and follow-up of all maintenance activities.
• Ensure all necessary facilities systems are kept in reliable working condition and they meet any required customer and regulatory specifications.
• Preventive Maintenance: Ensure maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production team to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support to operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
• Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance schedules.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance plant efficiency and reliability.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for timely repairs and maintenance.
• Budget Management: Assist in the management of the maintenance budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of operation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE

• Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent; Technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Minimum Experience 3 to 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing facility with high-speed packaging equipment, motor controls and electronics is strongly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in facilities management (HVAC, process safety management, building and grounds maintenance).
• 1 to 3 years’ previous leadership experience.

Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

• Ability to lead resource planning efforts in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, TPM, inventory and scheduling software.
• Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, change management skills, decision making, empowerment and delegation).
• Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good planning and priority setting skills.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Advanced technical skills in boiler, compressed air, mechanical and electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) are desired.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
