Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including adjustments and tests on steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and engine components, in compliance with all relevant regulations.
2. Oversee the implementation of NELLC maintenance and safety procedures within the facility, ensuring staff adherence and compliance with local legislation.
3. Manage the use of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) ERP system, including recording and tracking work orders and inventory.
4. Supervise parts inventory management within the maintenance facility.
5. Participate in scheduling and executing preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs.
6. Represent the maintenance department in coordination with other operations functions such as driver care, route operations, and customer service.
7. Supervise maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of work and safety.
8. Exhibit high ethical standards and integrity, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. At least 5 years of fleet supervisor experience in a Diesel Shop with heavy/medium-duty fleets.
2. Minimum of 5 years of auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience.
3. Experience with DOT compliance for medium/heavy trucks.
4. Preferred ASE Certification as a Master Automotive or Truck Technician.
5. Proficiency in computer use and diagnostic tools.
6. Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
7. Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
8. Supervisory experience in purchasing and budget management.
9. Willingness to work flexible schedules.
10. ASE certification is desirable but not mandatory.
11. Position qualifies for the Ohio School Employee Retirement System (SERs).
12. Location: Eastlake, OH (east of Cleveland).
