Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including testing and adjusting steering, electrical systems, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and engine components, in accordance with all relevant federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
2. Oversee and ensure compliance with NELLC maintenance and safety standard operating procedures at the local facility, including adherence by maintenance staff and compliance with applicable legislation and standards.
3. Manage the use of NELLC's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) ERP system, including recording and tracking maintenance work orders and parts inventory, personally using the system as needed.
4. Supervise parts inventory management within the maintenance facility.
5. Participate in and oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs for vehicles serviced by the facility.
6. Represent the maintenance team in interactions and coordination with other local operations functions such as driver care, route operations, and customer service.
7. Supervise maintenance staff, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
8. Uphold high ethical standards and personal integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior appropriately.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of fleet supervision experience in a diesel shop with heavy/medium-duty fleets.
• Minimum of 5 years of auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience.
• Experience ensuring compliance with DOT regulations for medium/heavy trucks.
• Preferably ASE Master Automotive and/or Master Truck Technician certification.
• Proficiency with computers and experience with computerized diagnostics.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Experience in parts inventory management, purchasing, and budget oversight.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules.
• Eligible for Ohio School Employee Retirement System (SERs).
• Location: Eastlake, OH (east of Cleveland).
