Terms Of Employment

The contract length will be 240 days.

Evaluation

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services.

Job Goal

The Maintenance Supervisor will endeavor to organize and monitor the maintenance and custodial departments in order to provide the District students, staff, and patrons with clean, safe, and secure facilities.

Performance Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment.
• Supervises work of all maintenance and custodial staff.
• Reports to the director of support services and superintendent on the conditions of the facilities and recommends changes or improvements.
• Recommends hiring, assignment, discipline, and termination of all maintenance and custodial staff.
• Maintains inventory on all District equipment.
• Maintains all records of warranty equipment and services.
• Coordinates the storage and distribution of supplies inventory.
• Coordinates procurement of District needs.
• Serves in an advisory capacity to assist schools and other departments in the purchasing process.
• Compiles specifications and forms for procured items.
• Evaluates quality of materials and supplies.
• Distributes bid requests to vendors, receives bid quotations, and evaluates bids in consultation with users.
• Maintains appropriate files on all bids and vendors.
• Maintains adjustments with vendors involving warranty and replacement of bid materials.
• Makes budget recommendations to the superintendent and director of support services.
• Maintains employment and payroll records for all maintenance and custodial staff.
• Assists District with the planning and implementing of construction projects.
• Works directly with school administration to resolve maintenance and personnel issues.
• Other duties, as assigned.
