Maintenance Supervisor

$85,000–$110,000 salary + 20% annual bonus potential
Overtime eligible (time and a half) | Every other Friday off | Union experience required
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations and lead a union workforce at our Conneaut facility. This role is key in driving performance across safety, quality, reliability, and cost by leveraging best practices and effectively managing people and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct maintenance mechanics in the safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of maintenance and plant activities
- Ensure work aligns with standards, procedures, and codes, including compliance with ISO protocols and the collective bargaining agreement
- Promote and uphold PSM, safety, environmental, and corporate policies and procedures
- Lead and facilitate monthly safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Encourage collaboration, accountability, and a respectful work environment
- Manage the performance and development of maintenance personnel through ongoing coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with planning and supervisory teams to estimate jobs, allocate resources, and resolve workflow issues
- Ensure proper tools, parts, and support are available for safe and timely completion of work
- Provide off-hour coverage or support when needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a maintenance-related field preferred
- Certified journeyman status in a mechanical trade is an asset if no degree
- Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing setting
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably with union workforce management experience
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, valves, and exchangers
- Familiarity with maintenance best practices and their impact on operational reliability
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication, coaching, and team leadership skills
