Care Initiatives is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our teams across Iowa's 40+ skilled nursing communities. This full-time days position emphasizes hands-on upkeep and a safe, home-like environment for residents.

You will lead preventive maintenance, monitor heating and cooling systems, coordinate with housekeeping, and ensure proper tools, inventory, and safety procedures are followed. A strong commitment to resident service is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as needed, per regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor equipment and systems; perform preventive/corrective maintenance to minimize disruption.
• Assist in heating/cooling operation; report problems promptly.
• Assist housekeeping with heavy floor care and cleaning tasks.
• Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available; maintain inventory and records.
• Keep exterior walkways safe and ensure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Ensure repairs comply with procedures, codes, regulations, and MSDS.
• Follow waste disposal procedures per facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, drills, and training; report outcomes as required.
• Use equipment and chemicals safely, observing protective measures.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal.
• Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
• Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
• Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure.
• Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.
