Job summary

GFL Environmental, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department and supervise a team responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of our diesel fleet and other heavy equipment.

You will ensure work complies with safety standards and regulations while driving fleet reliability and performance. You will lead from the front, coach technicians, and coordinate with management to meet shop goals and deadlines in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of heavy diesel truck maintenance experience.
• 1+ year in a leadership or lead tech role.
• Knowledge of engines, emissions, hydraulics, and air brakes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling/budgeting basics.

• Coach and mentor a team of technicians to perform at a high level.
• Plan repairs and track parts using the M5 Planner.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and federal/state regulations.

Job description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of a maintenance department and the supervision of a team responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of fleet. Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment (diesel fleet, alternate fuel, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment) is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.

• Command the Shop: Oversee the daily hustle of our maintenance department. You're the conductor of this diesel-powered orchestra!
• Coach & Mentor: You aren't just a boss; you're a pro trainer. Lead, inspire, and develop a team of skilled technicians to be the best in the business.
• The Tech Wizard: Use the M5 Planner to schedule repairs, track parts, and ensure our fleet-from heavy-duty trucks to alternative fuel vehicles-is in peak condition.
• Safety First, Always: Ensure every bolt is tight and every repair meets our gold-standard safety and federal/state regulations.
• Problem Solver: Dive into complex diagnostics and lead the way on advanced preventive maintenance.

• Experience: At least 3 years of heavy diesel truck maintenance and 1+ year in a leadership or lead tech role.
• Knowledge: You know your way around engines, emissions, hydraulics, and air brakes like the back of your hand.
• Skills: You're a pro with Microsoft Office and can juggle schedules and budgets without breaking a sweat.
• Grit: You're ready to lift 50 lbs, work in the shop environment, and lead from the front.
