The role partners with Production and Quality to support uptime, safety, and compliance, while balancing troubleshooting, documentation, CMMS/ERP records, and project work in a fully onsite setting.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree preferred; strong equivalent industry experience considered.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems.

This is a hands-on maintenance leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing and facilities maintenance in a regulated production environment. You will lead a small team of maintenance technicians and mechanics, own preventive maintenance and calibration programs, manage the CMMS, and ensure reliable operation of production and facility equipment. The role partners closely with Production and Quality to support uptime, safety, and compliance while balancing troubleshooting, planned maintenance, documentation, and team leadership.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of 23 maintenance technicians and mechanics in a hands-on capacity.
- Own and manage the preventive maintenance (PM) program, including planning, scheduling, and execution of PM activities on production and facility equipment.
- Administer and maintain the CMMS, ensuring work orders, PM schedules, equipment histories, and maintenance records are accurate and up to date.
- Own and oversee calibration programs for relevant equipment and instruments, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including pneumatics, pumps, fillers, compressed air systems, labelers, conveyors, and other automated equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues, including low-voltage electrical troubleshooting.
- Support equipment reliability by performing root cause analysis on recurring issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, projects, and facility maintenance, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to required standards.
- Manage maintenance scheduling to balance urgent repairs, planned PMs, and project work while minimizing production downtime.
- Oversee facilities maintenance and facility management activities, including HVAC, utilities, and general building systems as applicable.
- Ensure maintenance activities support regulatory compliance, including cGMP and other regulated manufacturing requirements where applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, calibration records, SOPs, and equipment qualification records as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Quality teams to align maintenance priorities with production schedules and quality requirements.
- Support safety initiatives by following and promoting OSHA and site safety standards during all maintenance and facility activities.
- Assist with maintenance-related projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- 35 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- 13 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience leading technicians or mechanics.
- Strong hands-on equipment troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience owning preventive maintenance (PM) programs and working with CMMS systems.
- Calibration experience for production or facility equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems used in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and pneumatics troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Experience working with compressed air systems.
- Experience with pumps and filling equipment (fillers / filling equipment).
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment and conveyor systems.
- Equipment maintenance and manufacturing maintenance experience, including production equipment and mechanical maintenance.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills, including low-voltage systems.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on equipment failures.
- Vendor management and contractor management experience for maintenance and facility work.
- Maintenance scheduling experience, including planning and prioritizing PMs and corrective work.
- Facility maintenance and facility management experience, including facilities maintenance/management and facility technician responsibilities.
- Maintenance supervision or maintenance management experience in a production environment.
- Ability to balance troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, documentation, and team leadership responsibilities.
- Previous cGMP or regulated manufacturing experience, particularly in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, OTC, or food and beverage manufacturing.
- Experience working in environments subject to FDA regulations and 21 CFR requirements.
- Familiarity with cGMP / GMP practices and documentation.
- Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ and equipment qualification processes.
- Experience supporting CAPA activities related to equipment and maintenance.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; strong equivalent industry experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- HVAC or refrigeration experience or certification.
- Experience with HVAC systems in a production or facility environment.
- NetSuite or other ERP system experience.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Experience working with SOPs and following documented maintenance procedures.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- Experience with project management in a maintenance or facilities context.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
- Background in safety-focused environments and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Experience in cosmetics, OTC, food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, or similar regulated industries.

This role is based on-site in a manufacturing facility and operates on a MondayFriday day shift, ideally from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility as needed to support production and maintenance activities. You will work in a hands-on environment around production equipment such as pumps, fillers, conveyors, labelers, compressed air systems, and automated machinery, as well as facility systems including HVAC and utilities. The work involves frequent interaction with production and quality teams, as well as external vendors and contractors. You will use tools such as a CMMS, ERP systems, maintenance documentation, and standard hand and diagnostic tools to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration tasks. The facility follows safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and cGMP where applicable, and expects adherence to appropriate personal protective equipment and site safety protocols.
This is a Permanent position based out of Valencia, CA.
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
