Job summary

Birgo is seeking a mission-driven working supervisor with plumbing expertise and strong administrative skills to oversee communities across nine multifamily properties in Tonawanda, Buffalo, and Hamburg. You will manage work orders via AppFolio and mobile devices, leading a two-person maintenance team to improve residents’ lives.

The role requires on-site scheduling, safety leadership, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors for renovations and preventative maintenance, while serving as the

Qualifications

• Expertise in plumbing and other residential maintenance trades.
• 5+ years experience in multifamily maintenance.
• 3+ years experience as a supervisor.
• Multi-site experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage apartment turnovers, work orders, inventory, and groundskeeping
• Complete high-skilled work (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, etc.) to lower vendor costs
• Operate in a paperless environment by processing work orders through mobile devices and apps such as AppFolio
• Set safety expectations for the team and adhere to company safety standards
• Lead aspects of people management for a team of two maintenance techs, including hiring, training, career development, and conflict resolution
• Monitor expenditures and adhere to budget
• Source and coordinate external contractors, vendors, and suppliers as necessary
• Support renovations, preventative maintenance, and construction projects as needed
• Serve as the liaison between property management and maintenance teams
• Manage on-call rotation
• Other duties as assigned to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

Locations

Nine (9) multifamily properties throughout Tonawanda, Buffalo, and Hamburg

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with on-call rotation

Successful Candidate Profile

Work Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Active driver's license and reliable vehicle with registration and insurance
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to work in confined spaces as well as ascend and descend ladders and staircases

Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in plumbing and other residential maintenance trades
• 5+ years experience in multifamily maintenance
• 3+ years experience as a supervisor
• Multi-site experience
