Job summary

National Metalwares is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance personnel and coordinate preventive maintenance for all plant equipment, building, and grounds. The role emphasizes safety, project oversight, and regulatory compliance to ensure continuous operations.

The ideal candidate will lead with strong communication, manage space and facilities, and collaborate with public utility and energy agencies as needed. In-person work at the Aurora facility is required.

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment, the building, and the grounds. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of all plant facilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervision & Direction: Oversee, direct, and manage maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Facilities Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of the plant, evaluating the efficient use of space and facilities.
  • Maintenance Programs: Establish, implement, and maintain a preventive maintenance (PM) program.
  • Compliance & Liaison: Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous waste. Act as a primary liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Project Oversight: Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure strict conformance to established specifications. Formulate and coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
  • Space Management: Assist in the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assists with facilities equipment repair and preventative maintenance when needed.
