Job summary

Movement Search and Delivery is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in the Akron, Ohio area to identify a Maintenance Supervisor. This newly created role offers a clear path to advancement as the current Maintenance Manager retires within 1–2 years, with the incumbent groomed to step into the position.

Initially, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, gaining hands-on exposure to plant operations before taking direct leadership of the maintenance department and driving

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role (lead a team of at least 2).
• Welding experience is required.
• Ability to read schematics, symbols, and blueprints.
• Proficient with various power tools for repair work.
• Basic shop math skills and machine shop basics.
• Strong attendance and reliability essential.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures in a fast-paced plant.
• Flexible schedule including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee, and lead maintenance of facility structures, services, machinery, equipment, and grounds.
• Guide and oversee capital projects related to facility and equipment.
• Own all maintenance programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Direct Supervisors and allocate team responsibilities.
• Maintain knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and robotics.
• Oversee the ADT alarm system.
• Maintain knowledge of cooling tower operation and wastewater concepts.
• Stay current on applicable codes and regulations.
• Maintain ISO-required preventative maintenance records and documentation.

Movement Search and Delivery is working with a leading manufacturing company in the Akron, Ohio area (south of Cleveland), to identify and evaluate a Maintenance Supervisor.

About the Role:

This is a newly created role with a clear path to advancement: the current Maintenance Manager is retiring within 1-2 years, and this person will be groomed to step into that position. In the interim, the role will work closely alongside the Maintenance Manager, gaining hands‑on exposure to the full scope of plant operations before assuming direct leadership of the department.

What You Will Do:

• Plan, oversee, and lead maintenance of the facility's physical structure, services, machinery, equipment, and grounds
• Guide and oversee capital projects related to the facility and equipment
• Own all maintenance programs, including preventative and predictive maintenance
• Direct Supervisor(s) and allocate team responsibilities
• Maintain working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and robotics
• Oversee the ADT alarm system
• Maintain working knowledge of cooling tower operation and function
• Maintain working knowledge of industrial wastewater concepts
• Stay current on applicable codes and regulations
• Maintain ISO-required preventative maintenance records and documentation

What You Need to Succeed:

• 5 years of supervisory experience (managing at least 2 people)
• Welding experience
• Ability to direct and assign repair and servicing work
• Ability to read schematics, symbols, and blueprints
• Proficient with various power tools for repair work
• Basic shop math skills
• Basic machine shop skills for servicing and repair
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule availability, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
