Job summary

Greif is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead the maintenance team, drive safety, and manage reliability across our operations in the Tacoma, WA area. You will support CAPEX, manage budgets, and push continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

The role requires 8–12 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a paper mill setting, and a strong track record in planning, scheduling, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Typically 8–12 years of relevant maintenance leadership experience, paper mill experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and developing teams to achieve performance.

Responsibilities

• Create a culture of employee empowerment, engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead maintenance team to follow safety policies and initiatives for zero incidents.
• Support capital expenditure projects from planning to execution.
• Manage the maintenance budget by tracking expenditures and labor costs.
• Direct root cause analysis for equipment and system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Use data to identify downtime causes and improve reliability.
• Provide technical support for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability, and lean programs.
• Plan and prioritize work orders, outages, and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Oversee repair, in-house design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
