Job summary

Leggett & Platt Incorporated in Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead the maintenance department, drive equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and sustain a safe, productive operation across manufacturing lines. You will manage maintenance staff, PM/PPM programs, and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging CMMS and reliability techniques to support production goals.

Experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, plus leadership, is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
5–10+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
3–5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Experience managing maintenance teams and budgets.
Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and/or automation systems.
Knowledge of industrial equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and controls.
Experience with CMMS systems and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Oversee all maintenance activities (preventive, predictive, and corrective).
Ensure equipment uptime and reliability for production operations.
Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshoot critical issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Develop and manage PM schedules; implement predictive maintenance techniques.
Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and drive reliability improvements.
Ensure OSHA safety compliance; conduct audits and training; enforce LOTO and safe work practices.
Control labor, parts, and contractor costs; manage budgets and resources.
