Job summary

Country Villa Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will perform hands-on facility maintenance across the center, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems, while maintaining safety and Life Safety standards.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and capable of troubleshooting a variety of general maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, general maintenance, custodial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and work order systems is a plus.
  • Healthcare, skilled nursing, nursing home, rehabilitation, assisted living, or hospital maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine facility maintenance, building maintenance, and repair work throughout the center.
  • Conduct daily rounds of the facility to identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and repair needs.
  • Review, prioritize, and complete daily maintenance work orders through the TELS system.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
  • Lubricate, clean, adjust, and maintain equipment and functional components as needed.
  • Clean and replace filters according to facility needs and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Check and replace light bulbs and exit lights.
  • Monitor room temperatures and make necessary adjustments.
  • Check circuit breakers and address or report electrical concerns as appropriate.
  • Monitor temperatures in coolers and freezers and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Inspect and maintain nurse call systems and report problems promptly.
  • Repair outdoor chairs, benches, and other facility equipment as needed.
  • Lubricate and maintain wheelchairs, shower chairs, Geri chairs, carts, and other equipment.
  • Identify and repair potential hazards caused by damaged carts, dollies, chairs, doors, walls, frames, or other equipment.
  • Report major equipment failures, safety concerns, and significant maintenance issues to the Administrator or supervisor.
  • Prepare resident rooms for new admissions and discharges.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of maintenance tools, parts, materials, and supplies.

Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Assistant Job Summary

Country Villa Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Assistant to join our team. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Operations Manager, this position assists with facility maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, safety inspections, and general maintenance to keep our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center safe, clean, comfortable, and in excellent working condition.

The Maintenance Technician will perform hands-on maintenance and repair duties throughout the facility, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, equipment, and building maintenance. This position also helps ensure compliance with required safety, Life Safety, OSHA, preventative maintenance, and facility standards.

The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, safety-conscious, and comfortable troubleshooting and completing a variety of general maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) throughout the facility.

  • Complete required preventative maintenance tasks in the TELS system.

  • Follow a monthly preventative maintenance schedule and complete assigned tasks on time.

  • Dedicate time each day to preventative maintenance activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, replacement parts, and materials used.

  • Assist with maintaining the facility's physical plant records and maintenance history.

  • Complete required maintenance documentation and reports.

Safety & Life Safety
  • Perform regular facility safety inspections and weekly walkthroughs of high-risk areas.

  • Help maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate safety requirements.

  • Complete required Life Safety, OSHA, fire safety, and preventative maintenance activities.

  • Maintain required logs and documentation for facility safety and compliance programs.

  • Assist with inspections and documentation related to fire alarms, smoke and heat detectors, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, fire extinguishers, fire doors, smoke doors, emergency drills, exit lighting, and other Life Safety equipment.

  • Follow facility safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and applicable OSHA requirements.

  • Identify and report potential safety hazards promptly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.

Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and electronic records.

  • Document completed work orders and preventative maintenance activities in TELS.

  • Maintain records of inspections, certifications, repairs, service contracts, and maintenance activities as required.

  • Assist with documentation needed for federal, state, local, corporate, OSHA, and Life Safety compliance.

  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable building codes.
