Job summary

Comunilife Inc. seeks a dependable Maintenance Specialist to join our team at locations across New York City. This full-time role involves interior/exterior upkeep, basic repairs, and safety compliance to uphold the building's standards.

You will perform painting, plumbing, electrical tasks, HVAC cleaning, floor work, and general carpentry while following safety rules and communicating in English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, and a valid driver's license is required for some sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience (preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must understand verbal and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility entrances for cleanliness and safety, including snow removal and hazard control.
• Complete Work Orders efficiently and thoroughly.
• Perform cleaning duties to maintain hygiene standards across floors, bathrooms, and public areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs: painting, patching, sheetrock, light plumbing, basic electrical, lighting, locks, floor tile and carpentry.
• Assist in fire safety drills and evacuations; report unusual occurrences to supervisor.

Comunilife is looking for hard working Maintenance Specialists to work in a team environment at one of our locations throughout New York City. For more than 25 years, we have been a provider of supportive housing, for individuals with serious mental illness and/or chronic medical issues such as HIV/AIDS. Full time positions are eligible to participate in Comunilife's generous benefits package and paid time off benefits. The salary range for the position is between $17.00 to $21.00 per hour.Current Openings at:Bronx program locationsResponsibilities Include:Monitor the Facility’s interior and exterior entrances for cleanliness (including snow removal and removal of other hazardous conditions).Complete Work Orders assigned in an efficient and proficient manner.Work in a pleasant and respectful manner with all clients.Assist in fire safety and evacuation drills, procedures and training.Alert the direct supervisor, Asst.
