Riverside Community Care in Dedham, MA is seeking a Maintenance Specialist III to support upkeep, safety, and functionality of our program locations. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in quality work and is eager to grow in a collaborative environment.

You will perform basic repairs, read blueprints, frame construction, finish carpentry, manage materials, and assist with landscaping while adhering to local codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in building upkeep.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications for carpentry tasks.
• Capable of carpentry, painting, minor electrical/plumbing and HVAC work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic building repairs including painting, carpentry, minor plumbing/electrical/HVAC.
• Read blueprints to determine tasks and material needs.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install structural components; frame additions/remodels.
• Install interior/exterior trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, and fixtures.
• Operate hand and power tools according to safety standards.
• Prepare material takeoffs and manage costs; organize tasks and deadlines.
• Perform landscaping duties and assist with larger landscape projects.

Maintenance Specialist III

We are seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Specialist III to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our program locations.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in quality work, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to build on their skills in a collaborative environment while keeping our facilities safe, functional, and welcoming.

As a Maintenance Specialist III, you will:

• perform basic building repairs, including painting, wall and window repair, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC repairs, lighting and air conditioner replacement. Assist with larger maintenance and renovation projects.
• read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to determine carpentry tasks, material needs, and sequence of work.
• measure, cut, assemble, and install structural components; frame new construction, additions, and remodeling projects.
• construct, install, and repair interior and exterior trim, doors, windows, staircases, cabinetry, countertops, shelving, and built-ins, with attention to fit, finish, and quality.
• perform finish carpentry and surface preparation, including sanding, caulking, filling gaps, and detailed trim work. Install siding, soffits, fascia, hardware, and weather-stripping.
• perform repair, maintenance, and restoration carpentry for residential and commercial properties, diagnosing structural problems and proposing solutions.
• safely operate and maintain hand and power tools; follow local building codes and OSHA safety standards; maintain safe, secure, and orderly work areas.
• prepare material takeoffs and cutting lists to minimize waste and control project costs. Organize tasks, meet deadlines, and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and pride in work.
• perform landscaping as needed, including mowing, bush trimming, brush removal, raking, mulching, seasonal planting, power washing, and gutter cleaning. Assist with larger landscape projects and perform shoveling as needed.
• assume additional responsibilities consistent with organizational needs.

Schedule: Full-Time - Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays as needed; participation in a weekly rotating schedule to provide after-hours emergency on-call service

Pay Rate: $31.82/hour
