Job summary

New Horizons is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Specialist II to perform a variety of duties around the agency’s facilities, including repairs and renovations of its physical structures. The role requires hands-on maintenance, grounds keeping, and on-call availability to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities include repairing plumbing, electrical components, painting, landscaping, and proper disposal of refuse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus three years of construction/maintenance and grounds keeping experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License with 6 points or less in the last 3 years.
• Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain physical structures and machinery.
• Check for and repair plumbing stoppages, breaks, and leaks in waste and water lines.
• Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances.
• Paint various surfaces using brushes, spray guns or paint rollers, as necessary.
• Maintain building grounds, including cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs and general clean up.
• Remove and dispose of properly refuse and trash from grounds.
• On-Call required.
