Job summary

New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee is seeking a caring Maintenance Specialist II to perform repairs and renovations at our facilities. You'll handle plumbing, electrical, painting, and grounds upkeep to ensure safe, clean, and functional spaces.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least three years in construction or maintenance, a valid Florida driver's license, and the ability to pass a Level 2 background check. On-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years construction/maintenance and grounds keeping experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License with 6 points or less in the last 3 years.
• Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain physical structures and machinery
• Check for and repair plumbing stoppages, breaks, and leaks in waste and water lines that might prevent proper operation
• Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances
• Paint various surfaces using brushes, spray guns or paint rollers, as necessary
• Maintain building grounds, including cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs and general clean up
• Remove and dispose of properly refuse and trash from grounds
• On-Call required

New Horizons is seeking a caring and compassionate Maintenance Specialist II who will perform a variety of duties in and around the Agency’s facilities that include maintenance repairs and renovations of its physical structures.

As a Maintenance Specialist II Your Responsibilities Will Include
