Job summary

Christ Church in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a Maintenance Specialist. The role maintains a welcoming facility, supports events, and assists with light repairs. Summary of Position
Essential Functions
  1. Maintain all visible areas of the facility to uphold the church’s commitment to excellence andhospitality.
  1. Support ministry and eventlogisticsby setting up and tearing down furniture, equipment,and supplies as directed.
  1. Assistwith moving and reconfiguring office furniture to meet ministry and staff needs.
  1. Ensure all rooms are ready to welcome guests andfacilitateministry gatherings that honorGod.
  1. Perform additional duties as assigned—such as painting and light repair—demonstrating flexibility and a servant’s heart in caring for God’s house
Other Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in Christ Church staff life by attending all-staff meetings, church sponsored events, worship, training events and contributing to a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coachingor mentoring, in order to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.

  • This role serves as part of the Operations team, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all who enter the church. Duties may include working with cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment. The position requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods while following all safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff and guests. On occasion, this role may respond to unexpected cleaning needs such as spills or illness-related incidents to ensure that all areas remains an sanitary and presentable for ministry activities and guests.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Flexible and willing to adjust your schedule to help with church services, programs, and special events— ministry often happens outside normal hours.
