Job summary

UNM Hospital is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Specialist to perform standard facility and ground maintenance duties, including carpentry and electrical repairs, in a busy hospital environment. You will support other department personnel, participate in routine inspections, and help maintain building systems.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.

Position Summary:

Entry level position within maintenance specialist series; perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties and tasks to include carpentry, and electrical repairs; may support and interact with other department personnel. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No Patient care assignment.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• MAINTENANCE - Perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties to assigned area; replace light bulbs, electrical outlets, switch covers and other related items
• MAINTENANCE - Monitor, trouble shoot and repair/adjust thermostats and facility systems as required; request qualified personnel for repairs as appropriate
• RESPONSE TEAMS - Participate in Fire-Brigade-Response Team and child abduction programs; participate in annual competency reviews, tests and in-services
• ASSISTANCE - Assist other department personnel as needed
• RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
