Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a Maintenance Repairer 2 to keep campus facilities in working order. The role requires experience or a two-year vocational program in building trades, plus related coursework.

Responsibilities include general building repairs, maintenance of mechanical systems, lock work, and appliance servicing in food service areas. Appointment is Probational with a starting hourly rate of $19.67.

• Two years of experience or training in building construction trades or maintenance.
• Two-year vocational program in building construction or related field is acceptable.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management/engineering coursework may satisfy the requirement.

Responsabilidades

• Make general repairs to interiors and exteriors of SUBR buildings and minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain and repair various motorized equipment including tune-ups and mechanical parts adjustments.
• Make adjustments or replace locks; assist with special projects as directed.
• Perform limited repairs to appliances and food service areas on SUBR campus.

Southern University and A & M College is seeking a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join our team to ensure campus facilities are in working order. Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR

Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.

• Make general repairs to interiors and exteriors of buildings located on the SUBR Campus; make minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, air conditioning and heating systems; maintain and makes general repairs to variety of motorized equipment including tune-ups; repair, replace and/or make adjustments to worn or damage parts as it relates to mechanical issues.

• Assist with making adjustments or replacing locks; install locks as requested; assist the Maintenance Repairer Master with special projects as assigned or required.

• Make limited repairs to appliances, replace parts and make adjustments in the Food Service areas located on the SUBR Campus.

• Performs other related work as directed or required.
