Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol seeks a skilled Maintenance Repair Worker 2 for the HP Lancaster Post in Lancaster, OH. The role involves electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facilities maintenance across multiple locations, with a 6:00am–3:00pm schedule.

Requires valid driver license and 6 months of maintenance repair experience, plus CDL eligibility. This full-time position offers OCSEA union benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment)

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, replacement, installation & repair of electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Performs carpentry work involving maintenance, alteration &/or repair of buildings, equipment & wood structures.
• Performs basic painting.
• Operates state vehicle to transport equipment, tools, parts, materials & supplies to various locations throughout the state or to transport vehicle to dealership for service or repair.
• Performs minor custodial duties.
• Performs general exterior grounds keeping duties.
• Performs minor maintenance on Division vehicles.

What You'll Do As a Maintenance Repair Worker 2

• Performs maintenance, replacement, installation & repair of electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Performs carpentry work involving maintenance, alteration &/or repair of buildings, equipment & wood structures.
• Performs basic painting.
• Operates state vehicle to transport various equipment, tools, parts, materials & supplies to various locations throughout the state or to transport vehicle to dealership for service or repair.
• Performs minor custodial duties.

• Performs minor maintenance on Division vehicles.
