Job summary

Metallus in Canton, OH is seeking an SME Professional to provide technical leadership across maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement teams. You will directly execute planned maintenance, help manage weekly plans, and lead unplanned emergency work to keep assets performing at peak.

As the technical expert in reliability, you will apply best practices, use condition-monitoring insights, and drive proactive maintenance strategies that improve uptime and lifecycle costs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.
• Associate's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Directly execute scheduled maintenance activities in alignment with the weekly maintenance plan.
• Work within the 7-day maintenance window to address planned, unplanned, and emergency work.
• Lead maintenance crews and contractors through execution of the maintenance plan.
• Assign and manage the workload of trade and craft employees during execution.
• Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in all completed work.
• Identify and communicate plan deviations, scope changes, and improvement opportunities.
• Support reliability improvements and best practices across assets.
