Job summary

Bimbo QSR Chicago is seeking an inventory and parts purchasing associate to manage stock levels and cost-efficient procurement. This role involves processing orders, reconciling invoices, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure on-time deliveries.

You will adhere to GMP standards and safety rules while maintaining accurate records and supporting continuous improvements in inventory controls.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with at least 1 year parts/inventory experience.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; basic math and writing skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical parts and their use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and purchase parts cost-effectively.
• Place orders for parts to ensure timely receipt.
• Provide Purchase Orders and reconcile to invoices.
• Use approved suppliers and validate vendors for quality and pricing.
• Compare Purchase Orders with received products for accuracy.
• Follow up on orders for timely receipt.
• Coordinate information flow with vendors, Chief Engineer, Mechanics, and Accounting.
• Notify management of deviations and inventory issues.
• Adhere to GMPs and Food Safety rules (BRC Standard).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining inventory and purchasing parts in a cost-effective manner.

• Places orders for parts insuring timely and accurate receipt .
• Provides Purchase Orders and reconciles to billing invoices.
• Uses approved suppliers and validates vendors to insure high quality products and competitive pricing.
• Compares Purchase Orders with products received to insure accuracy.
• Follow up on orders for timely receipt.
• Coordinates information flow with vendors, Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, Mechanics and Accounting.
• Notify Management of any deviations, difficulties and inventory issues.
• Abide by all GMP’s, Personal and Food Safety Rules (BRC Standard).
• Other duties that may be assigned by appropriate management.

High School graduate or its equivalency in experience and/or training and one year parts and inventory experience. Knowledge of Excel and Word computer programs. Basic math and writing skills as well as a knowledge of mechanical parts and their use.

• Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery.
• Able to sit for prolonged periods
• Able to negotiate stairs while carrying packages up to 50 pounds
• Able to work in temperatures from 90 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels as high as 98%.
• Able to stoop, bend and crouch on a regular basis to check equipment or supplies in low-lying areas.
• Able to lift 60 pounds once an hour and 10 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to raise arms overhead repeatedly while lifting 30 pounds.
