The Lawson Companies in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Maintenance Prep team member to support our maintenance crew. You will assist with overall property upkeep including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of maintenance trade experience.
• Formal training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, or HVAC.
• Ability to report during inclement weather for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Vacant apartment prep.
• Perform maintenance projects in a timely manner with good workmanship.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, painting, concrete, masonry, minor extermination and carpentry work.
• Repair, replace or install signage, glass, tile, cove base, fixtures, venetian blinds, locks, doorknobs and hinges.
• Inspections.
• Turn inventory control.
• Janitorial and on-the-spot corrections in janitorial services.
• Other duties as assigned.
