Global Parking Systems MSY – Kenner Operations’ administrative offices are located on the ground floor of the Economy Garage on Airline Drive.
Scope of Position
Maintenance Porters operator a F550 22-passenger seat shuttle bus to refuel the shuttle to allow a continuous flow in rotation for shuttle drivers.
Essential Functions
To perform the Maintenance Porter position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility listed below with little supervision:
•Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of shuttle buses
•Refuel shuttle buses
•Have and maintain an acceptable DMV record
•Assist Supervisors with other duties as needed
•Obey all federal, state, and local laws including traffic laws regarding proper operation of shuttle bus
Starting Hourly Rate of Pay
The starting rate of pay for the Maintenance Porter position is $18.00 hourly.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an individual encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Porter position:
•The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
•The Maintenance Porter will be responsible for cleaning and upkeeping shuttle buses outdoors in diverse temperatures and adverse weather conditions
Position Status and Availability
The individual selected to the Maintenance Porter position must be available to work a full-time 7:00a – 3:30p shift Monday – Friday shift including holidays.
Position Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the Maintenance Porter position:
•Refuel shuttle buses
•Clean interior and exterior of shuttle buses
•Refreshing interior of shuttle buses
•Check oil
•Perform cleaning of interior and exterior of shuttle buses as noted in checklists
•Ensure all dirt, dust, litter and debris is removed from all areas of the buses using brooms, mops, brushes and other hand tools.
•Report any unknown, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the facility manager in a timely manner
•Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the facility manager/supervisor
•Resolve customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
•Be familiar with all aspects of the operation and cover other duties on an as needed basis
•Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts
•Perform other duties as assigned.

•Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds
•Ability to comply with company’s policies and procedures
•Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, perform basic calculations and work well other employees
•Willingness to work outside in extreme weather conditions (cold, hot, rainy)
•Consistently arrive at work and on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time
•Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, write) with customers, co-workers and management to their understanding
Licenses and Certifications
The individual selected to the Maintenance Porter position must remain compliant with federal and local CDL requirements and are required to report any situation that may disqualify the individual from having a CDL certification. This includes random alcohol and drug testing and post-accident alcohol and drug testing. The individual selected to the position must possess a valid Louisiana CDL with passenger endorsement.
DOT Medical Card
The individual selected to the Maintenance Porter position must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) by a certified, registered medical examiner and is required to ensure that the medical card is renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the card.
Training Courses
The individual selected to the Maintenance Porter position must possess computer knowledge to ensure completion of online training courses in a timely manner.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Maintenance Porter position.
While performing the duties of the Maintenance Porter position, the individual is regularly required to:
•Sit, stand, walk, bend stoop, kneel and use hands to handle equipment
•Reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
•Occasionally climb or balance
•Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Education Requirements
The individual selected to the Maintenance Porter position must possess a:
•High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
•Louisiana Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement
•DOT medical card by a certified, registered medical examiner
