Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee plant equipment, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to keep operations running smoothly.

You will obtain blueprints and electrical schematics, estimate labor hours, allocate materials, maintain machinery history files, and ensure OSHA compliance; SAP experience is a big plus. Base pay ranges from $58,500 to $97,500 per year with a 5% annual incentive and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in specialized trade or equivalent.
• SAP experience is a big plus.
• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and automation aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes work to be completed, feasibility of work orders and approval.

• Organizes parts and tooling; verifies equipment availability; uses kitting to increase effectiveness.
• Estimates maintenance labor hours and allocates material to work orders.

• Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and recommends equipment changes.
• Maintains scheduling documentation and cost records for projects.
• Schedules safety checks and maintains OSHA-compliant records.
• Maintains machinery history files and costs for all plant equipment.

What You Will Do:

• Prioritizes work to be completed, feasibility of work orders and receives approval to pursue.
• Obtains blueprints and/or electrical schematics for review.
• Organizes all pertinent parts and tooling. Verifies equipment availability for all maintenance work requested. Utilizes kitting process to increase effectiveness.
• Estimates maintenance labor hours and allocates material to work orders.
• Coordinates work and follows up with originating department.
• Schedules preventive maintenance and maintains work order documentation on all machinery in plant and surrounding areas and maintains history of parts and accurate records of work done.
• Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and schedules preventive maintenance on all machinery and recommends equipment changes.
• Maintains scheduling documentation including date completion time (p.m. hours emergency hours) and cost of project.
• Schedules safety checks of all micro switches and emergency stops and maintains records to meet OSHA requirements.
• Maintains machinery history files (all man-hour and parts costs) on all machinery in plant and surrounding areas.

What We Look For:

• Two-year degree in specialized trade or equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP experience is a big plus!
• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Must have great collaboration and communication (verbal and writing) skills, with the ability to effectively work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Candidate should possess intermediate mechanical, electrical, and automation aptitude.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $97,500 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
