We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team at the Hedrick, Iowa facility. Relocation assistance and VISA sponsorship are not available. This role requires on-site presence at the Corteva location.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain inventory system for parts, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Oversee daily preventative maintenance of all equipment and train operators on key maintenance programs.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for farms, plants, and fleet vehicles.
- Establish positive relationships with vendors.
- Perform repairs in-house or outsource as needed.
- Design and implement electronic maintenance scheduling and recordkeeping systems.
- Supervise maintenance tasks performed by others.
- Implement safety programs and policies according to Corteva and OSHA standards.
- Coordinate or perform repairs on plant processing equipment.
- Plan and coordinate workload with stakeholders and customers.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process lines to ensure continuity.
- Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently, complying with research protocols and regulations.
- Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations.
- Design and implement process improvements.
- Ensure operation of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, HVAC equipment.
- Coordinate electrical repairs and inspections.
- Conduct field checks/audits for job completion.
- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, OSHA, and PSM procedures.
- Manage parts ordering and inventory.
- Maintain organized parts storage and recordkeeping in EAM.
- Identify safety information and requirements for tasks.
- Perform various other duties as assigned.
What Skills You Need
- Expertise in repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and light fabrication.
- At least 5 years’ experience in troubleshooting equipment and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work in elevated areas, outdoors, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks.
- Problem-solving mindset for troubleshooting opportunities.
- Comfort with technology and Microsoft Office applications, willing to learn company-specific software.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Willing to work rotating shifts and overtime, including nights and weekends during peak seasons.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Two-year technical or associate’s degree in Mechanics, Operations, Safety, or related field.
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work.
- Experience with agricultural equipment (tractors, forklifts, plows, etc.).
