You will develop detailed job plans, review and prepare work orders, and manage two-week planning cycles for outages and down-days. Collaboration with multiple departments and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance work for maintenance down-days and/or mill-wide outages.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), such as MP2 or SAP.
  • Experience developing detailed maintenance job plans and coordinating work scope, resources, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Review CMMS work orders to identify those needing planning and ensure proper workflow before scheduling.
  • Build out work packages two weeks or more in advance and coordinate outage calendars.
  • Identify material requirements, enter material requests, and verify correct parts are received before downtime.
  • Support backlog management by prioritizing work based on safety, risk, value, and availability of parts.
  • Participate in weekly backlog, planning, and scheduling meetings to align priorities.
  • Review completed work and preventive maintenance feedback to assess plan effectiveness and capture lessons learned.
  • Build effective relationships with Maintenance and Operations Leaders, Scheduler, Materials Coordinator, Purchasing, Reliability, contractors.

Maintenance Planner - Prosperity Plywood

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Planner for our Plywood facility in Prosperity, South Carolina. The Maintenance Planner improves reliability, workforce productivity, and work quality by anticipating and eliminating delays through proactive planning, prioritization, and coordination of labor, parts, materials, tools, safety requirements, specialty services, and equipment access. This role supports planning at least two weeks in advance and coordinates maintenance activities for maintenance down-days, and mill-wide outages.

What You Will Do

  • Develop accurate, detailed job plans that define the work scope, job steps and sequence, labor, materials, tools, specialty services, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Review work orders in the CMMS to identify those requiring formal planning; retrieve existing plans when available, create plans when needed, and ensure work orders follow the proper workflow before ready to schedule.
  • Utilize economic and critical thinking and risk-taking mentality to ensure maintenance spend create long term value for the product system and mill
  • Build out work order packages far enough in advance to support a two-week or longer schedule, including regular updates to outage calendars and planning for down-days, and mill-wide outages.
  • Identify material requirements, enter material requests, maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs), and verify that the correct parts are received before scheduled downtime. Order parts only when they are expected to be installed in a timely manner.
  • Support backlog management by prioritizing work based on safety and environmental needs, risk, value, operational requirements, work-order priority, preventive maintenance due dates, planning status, and parts availability.
  • Conduct and actively participate in weekly backlog, planning, and scheduling meetings to align priorities, select ready work, and drive work readiness for the next two weeks.
  • Review completed work and preventive maintenance feedback to assess job-plan effectiveness, capture lessons learned, document discoveries, and initiate corrective work when needed.
  • Build effective working relationships with Maintenance and Operations Area Leaders, the Scheduler, Materials Coordinator, Purchasing, Reliability, contractors, and other service providers.
  • Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Employees may work with the various departments throughout the facility. Following is a list ofphysical and environmental demands for these departments:

  • Work in a hot, humid, dusty, and cold environment
  • Perform work in an outdoor environment, exposing one to the elements
  • Perform tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs., walking, stooping, standing, repetitively pushing and/or pulling.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), such as MP2, or SAP
  • Prior experience planning and scheduling maintenance work for maintenance down-days, and/or mill-wide outages.
  • Experience developing detailed maintenance job plans and coordinating work scope, resources, materials, tools, and safety requirements.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior experience with knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance principles, including precision maintenance, predictive technologies, asset criticality, failure analysis, materials management, and outage planning.
