Summary

Drive reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence across our manufacturing environment. As a Maintenance Planner Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance activities are planned, scheduled, and executed safely and effectively to maximize equipment performance and plant reliability. You will develop detailed work packages, coordinate labor, materials, tools, permits, and resources, and create time-phased maintenance plans that support Reliability Excellence processes. Partnering closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams, you will help optimize maintenance strategies, improve work execution, and maintain accurate equipment and job plan data. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating across teams, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule : 1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

  • Develop plans for all maintenance activities, including maintenance of Maximo and preventive maintenance system data and reporting.
  • Analyze data for use in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Maintain and develop best practices for preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure continuous review of preventive maintenance work orders as they relate to equipment history.
  • Recommend modifications to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance labor utilization.
  • Learn universal maintenance standards to develop reasonable expectations for the time required to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and label all new equipment in accordance with company standards and keep records current.
  • Use key performance indicators to provide fact-based feedback to management.
  • Plan maintenance work with regard to the skill level and safety training required to complete tasks.
  • Review SAP and Maximo data from other locations with similar equipment and report findings and recommendations.
  • Administer maintenance shift scheduling, work order backlog, and planning for scheduled downtime work, including parts availability.
  • Interface with Engineering, local management, Operations Support, corporate departments, and outside entities on special projects as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Operations Support regarding reports used to develop, track, and communicate results to management.
  • Develop a time-phased plan of activities indicating what is to be done, when, by whom, and with what equipment.
  • Make decisions regarding the allocation of available capacity and resources, including equipment, labor, and space, to jobs, activities, and tasks over time.
  • Estimate and initiate work orders for maintenance notifications and provide maintenance support for equipment reliability planning and site emergencies.
  • Lead weekly maintenance meetings involving all manufacturing site groups.
  • Submit the weekly maintenance planning schedule and associated completion report.
  • Prepare, forecast, and explain cost variances for maintenance work.
  • Manage the procurement of equipment, materials, and outside services for maintenance work.
  • Manage repairs, purchases, invoices, and receipts for maintenance needs within the plant.
  • Kit backlog maintenance work for utilization as fill-in work and review backlog maintenance notifications in Maximo.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance documentation and manage updated bills of materials for all equipment.
Minimum Education and Experience

College degree or equivalent experience.

6-8 years of experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Specialized training or education (post-high school) in maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

When in a plant environment :

E xposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient conditions and up to 100% humidity.

May handle product temperatures from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

May be exposed to noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.

May be exposed to dust, feathers, and chemicals used in a poultry food processing facility. Wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

May experience occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors up to 10 ppm and chlorine levels below 20 ppm.

Stand for several hours.

Lift up to 50 lbs., reach, bend, and push boxes on a conveyor assembly.
