Job summary

Job description

The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner will facilitate Opportunity-based work by having materials kitted and tasks available for short or no-notice shutdowns of individual equipment or rooms.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for planning maintenance activities supporting Production and associated areas
  • Regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources
  • Ensure timely, efficient, and quality service to all internal beneficiaries of Maintenance
  • Help Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance
  • Familiar with CMMS system and how it works within the plant
  • Create and maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks list for each asset
  • Effectively manage the CMMS work order backlog to create schedules
  • Maintain materials and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Create recommended critical spare parts lists and stocking quantities for Maintenance Parts
  • Work with plant operations team, production schedulers, and maintenance supervisors to schedule all maintenance work
  • Lead daily and weekly PM scheduling meetings
  • Coordinate all outside services such as forklift repair, AC repair, etc.
  • Incorporate safety into all aspects of the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/CAPABILITY PROFILE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • OSHA Powered Industrial equipment training and pass associated tests, if required
  • 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • 1 year of experience in purchasing or similar duties
  • 1 year of experience in interacting with customers / Customer service
  • Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment, if required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Influential leadership, decision making, and efficient management skills
  • Business-minded, safety and quality-oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Working knowledge of computer software tools
  • Maintenance background with exposure to a wide variety of maintenance areas
  • Capable of working with vendors and holding them accountable
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Willingness to work various hours and days as necessary
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment and plant prints, and mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Knowledgeable in warehouse concepts, spare parts inventory, and procurement procedures
  • Understanding of periodic maintenance schedules and procedures to increase equipment lifespan
