Job summary

Amcor is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to improve equipment reliability in a manufacturing setting. You will develop efficient maintenance schedules, review work tickets, and manage parts inventory to meet production demands.

You will analyze data from the Emaint/SAP systems to build predictive and preventive programs, coordinate contractors, and lead a training program to elevate the maintenance team’s knowledge and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates or Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A four-year degree would meet the formal requirements, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous work experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician.

Responsibilities

  • Improve equipment reliability and asset availability by developing maintenance schedules and planning work tickets.
  • Actively manage parts inventory to meet production demands.
  • Create and communicate work orders based on maintenance requests and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Prioritize planned work based on equipment availability, safety impact, and contractor availability.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor services and outside support as needed.
  • Implement and manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Develop and deliver training to enhance the maintenance team's knowledge base.

Formally closes work orders after review.Provide technical advice on matters relating to equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.Prioritizes planned work based on equipment availability, resources, safety impact and availability of outside contractors if needed.Coordinates and manages contractor services including but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, fire inspections etc.Collects data on equipment breakdowns.Implement, manage and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programsImplement and manage training program to further the knowledge base of the maintenance workforce.Monitor progress on difficult or extended problems and projectsCoordinate outside contractors when required for special project work or to supplement maintenance workforce.Support maintenance schedule including guidance of available resources, development of weekly resource schedules and ongoing improvementsCoordinates various projects as assigned by Maintenance ManagerMonitor the maintenance work schedule for vacations and overtime planning.WHAT WE VALUERequires ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, inside and outside the company.Requires the ability to creatively solve problems and facilitate others to do the same.Must be willing to work flexible schedule.Must be a confident decision maker and capable of making decisions within time and information constraints.The ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis is required.Must have a strong knowledge of the mechanical crafts and procedures including the millwright trade, pipefitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, sheet metal, and machinist skills.Must have a strong working knowledge of electricity including both A.C. and D.C., electronics, power distribution, and circuitry protection.Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of SAP systems.WHAT WE WANT FROM YOUMinimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Associates or Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.A four-year degree from an accredited college would meet the formal requirements of this position.
