Job summary

DFAMILK is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate in-house planned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and work order backlog, ensuring efficient equipment operation. You will use SAP to manage job plans, labor hours, and parts availability, while coordinating schedules with production and maintenance teams.

The role requires 2–4 years in MRO or related fields, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years experience in MRO, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Certification and/or license may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance program to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Create and close maintenance work orders in SAP or other system.
  • Coordinate work order backlog and scheduling to minimize downtime.
  • Create purchase orders and manage parts inventory and procurement.

Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Coordinate maintenance planning activities and provide operations support. Coordinate in-house planned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and work order backlog based on production and maintenance requirements, maintenance, and operations inventory process.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance program to maintain efficient equipment operation
  • Prepare, review, update, and close maintenance work orders (e.g., job plan, labor hours, skill set required, and parts availability) through SAP or established program
  • Manage and coordinate work order backlog to establish execution schedules based on production and maintenance requirements and available resources to minimize planned downtime activities
  • Schedule and manage daily and weekly maintenance activity schedules
  • Create purchase orders to procure parts and production supplies, including price negotiation and purchase processes
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance department parts and production supplies, including inventory control, purchasing approval coordination, and inventory product process
  • Maintain up-to-date library of machine manuals, prints and schematics
  • Manage SAP or applicable system, including set up entities, vendors, and equipment
  • Prepare maintenance financial, statistical, and technical reports, including equipment history maintenance and open order updates
  • Work closely with maintenance staff on continuously improving programs by editing tasks and frequencies when approved by manager
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul), manufacturing, or related work experience
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and general maintenance activities
  • Skill in organization and prioritization
  • Able to coordinate a high-level of activity
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
  • Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
  • Able to understand the basic types of controls used in the plant and how they affect the process
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
