Job summary

Overhill Farms in Vernon, CA is seeking a Maintenance Parts Room Clerk to support the Maintenance team with inventory control, purchasing coordination, and parts tracking. You will maintain stock levels, manage the COGZ system, and ensure accurate records for efficient production.

This non-exempt full-time role involves forklift-friendly tasks, coordinating with maintenance staff, and following GMP/safety procedures to keep parts readily available.

Responsibilities

• Verify all purchasing for Maintenance to meet quality standards and daily production requirements.
• Ensure materials and supplies for daily production are in stock.
• Maintain the COGZ system to track incoming/outgoing materials in the parts room.
• Maintain files of all parts by item number, location and account number; ensure proper storage.
• Ensure parts entering or returned are in good condition before adding to inventory.
• Monitor fast-moving parts; verify min/max levels and reconcile discrepancies.
• Create labels and post part numbers on bins.
• Establish minimum/maximum stock levels without jeopardizing plant operations.
• Obtain copies of PO and packing slips for verification using COGZ system.
• Review parts manuals/catalogs to order correct parts.
• Notify requester on receipt of parts.
• Perform monthly cycle counts to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Process return forms and note 'Return' on packing lists.
• Issue copies of POs for received items.
• Work with accounts payable to ensure smooth invoice/payments process.
• Follow through on back orders and pending POs.
• Claim credits for returned, damaged or missing parts.
• Document all parts from the parts room to avoid cycle count discrepancies.
• Signed-out parts should balance from stock via COGZ.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Managers.
