Job summary

Homewood Suites Raleigh Cary I-40 in Cary, NC is seeking a part-time Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role supports the hotel through routine maintenance, preventive care, and basic repairs across essential systems, working 2 days per week (16 hours).

You will assist with painting, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and help keep guest areas safe and well-maintained by coordinating with the engineering team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year maintenance or construction-related experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to lift and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to learn and develop maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks (painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Perform preventive repairs on building systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment ( refrigerators, ice machines, laundry ).
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of hotel grounds and public areas.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines when using tools and equipment.

Do you love troubleshooting, working with your hands, and learning from experienced pros to keep a hotel running flawlessly?

At Parks Hospitality Group , we are looking for a dedicated and motivated Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be a vital part of keeping our property in peak condition—working side-by-side with our engineering team to tackle routine maintenance, master preventive care, and handle basic repairs across all of our key facility systems.

This is a part-time position, 2 days per week/16 hours per week.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing repairs, electrical work, and HVAC system maintenance.
• Perform maintenance and preventive repairs on building systems and equipment throughout the property.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, such as refrigerators, ice machines, and laundry equipment.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the hotel grounds and public areas.
• Respond to guest requests for maintenance assistance in a timely and courteous manner.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to safety and security guidelines in the use of tools and equipment.

What You’ll Need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of previous experience in a maintenance or construction-related field.
• Basic understanding of building maintenance principles and practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with both guests and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn and develop maintenance skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting at least 25 pounds, standing for extended periods, and bending/kneeling.
