Job Title: Maintenance Outsource Coordinator

Job Summary: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for minimizing downtime of J.B. Hunt equipment to improve utilization of assets and control maintenance costs. The role coordinates maintenance repairs with our internal maintenance shops and outside vendors, handles sensitive and urgent/priority calls, and must receive management approval for repair expenditures exceeding $1,200.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and manage routed breakdown calls, efficiently plan repairs, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Issue Purchase Orders and process invoices for vendor payments.
  • Maintain vendor profiles by obtaining updated information and submitting change requests to management.
  • Ensure service compliance is met.
  • Work with vendors to ensure warranties are honored and parts retained when necessary.
  • Work with vendors to ensure services are completed in a timely manner and costs are controlled.
  • Provide follow‑up to ensure problems are handled in a timely manner.
  • Locate the appropriate vendor closest to the breakdown to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing, and quality repairs to minimize cost; must receive management approval for repair expenditures exceeding $1,200.00.
  • Submit required estimates to equipment central teams and follow up on pending approvals.
  • Monitor open requests and coordinate with operations teams to reposition equipment for repair; reassign shops or vendors when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 1-2 years of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent.
  • Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences.
  • Ability to assess terminal workloads, adjust work distribution accordingly, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive and/or diesel mechanic knowledge.
  • Experience in Automotive Services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to exercise discretion.
  • Ability to make time‑sensitive decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to read, interpret, and analyze data in reports.
  • Experience in a call center environment.
  • Experience in invoicing.
  • Experience with collecting/documenting information.
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations to provide excellent service.

Compensation: Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
