Job description

The Village of Milford is seeking creative, hard-working, and dedicated individuals for a full-time Maintenance Operator II position within the Department of Public Services. Employees in the Department complete a variety of tasks and projects to maintain the critical physical infrastructure within the Village, including streets, utilities, parks, and more.

The primary responsibilities of this position include the operation of various equipment in the construction, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of Village water, sewer/wastewater, street, and storm drainage facilities and systems. This position is also responsible for completing assignments related to landscaping, forestry, and parks maintenance functions to help keep the community looking great and operating smoothly.

• A minimum of the High School Diploma, or its equivalent.
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License. Must possess a State of Michigan CDL B with a Tanker Endorsement.
• State of Michigan Pesticide Applicator License or Water, Wastewater, or Stormwater certifications.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of related public works/utilities, construction, landscaping, or forestry experience is required. Prior work in a municipal setting is preferred.
• Experience using a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
