Polaris Huntsville is seeking a Facilities Technician in a role tied to internal promotions and transfers. You will provide general facilities support including maintenance of building and grounds, move requests, and coordination with the maintenance team.
Responsibilities include painting, plumbing and electrical support, routine PMs, and liaison work with contractors. Eligible candidates should have 3–5 years in maintenance or facilities and strong teamwork and independence.
New Hires must have 1-year Continuous Service from Polaris Hire Date 6 Months Between Department Transfers or Promotions No Active Corrective Actions 2 or less Attendance Points Must have received a 'Meets Expectation' in the most recent performance review, if applicable. Resume Required Interview Required Candidates already assigned to the work unit (Assembly, Weld, Materials, Quality, etc.) will be considered first. If a suitable candidate is not identified, all other eligible candidates will be considered. Failure to attend a scheduled interview (No Show), without notice, will result in being ineligible for future roles for 6 months. If selected for the position, you are required to move into the position upon the effective date. If you are no longer interested in the position, you must withdraw prior to an offer being presented. If unable to accept the position as expected, you will be ineligible for future roles for 1 year from the date of refusal.
Provide general facilities support for the operation including but not limited to general repair and upkeep of the building and grounds.
Carry out specific assignments as directed by the Work order system or the team supervisor which may include supporting tasks with the maintenance team.
Responsible for general office moves and conference room set up requests.
Provide general facilities support such as: painting, patching of walls, light carpentry, hanging items, sheet rock work and masonry repairs.
Provide general plumbing support such as changing faucets and working on toilets.
Support electrical work conducted by staff electricians (pulling wire and bending conduit) and change light bulbs as needed.
Carry out and complete regularly scheduled Facility PMs.
Repair and maintain all facility doors, dock doors, dock plates, etc.
Assist other facility maintenance techs with potential breakdown calls related to electric and/or pneumatic hoists.
Maintain general plant appearance including industrial cleaning and ride-on floor scrubbing.
Work with landscape contractors to insure that the grounds are maintained properly.
Act as a liaison between Polaris and facilities contractors or temporary contract labor as requested.
Work in a neat, clean and orderly manner.
Follow all environmental, health and safety rules in daily assignments.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Experienced using forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts 3-5 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
Ability to communicate well and work independently
Working with hazardous materials and chemicals. Working in confined spaces. Will be required to wear the proper safety equipment and follow all safety guidelines.
Base Pay Range: $22.81 - $26.93 Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship will not be provided.
