Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of machinery and equipment at our Huntsville facility. You will install new production equipment, perform regular maintenance, and troubleshoot breakdowns to keep lines running efficiently.

The role requires reading engineering blueprints and electrical schematics, with a minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance. You will work with a team, follow strict safety protocols, and contribute to continuous improvement

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
  • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
  • Installing new production equipment.
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
  • Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
  • Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance staff, and other team members on facility projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints Working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and hand tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment Exposure to both hot and cold environments Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times Polaris Huntsville

Internal Promotion / Transfer Requirements:

New Hires must have 1-year Continuous Service from Polaris Hire Date 6 Months Between Department Transfers or Promotions No Active Corrective Actions 2 or less Attendance Points Must have received a 'Meets Expectation' in the most recent performance review, if applicable. Resume Required Interview Required Candidates already assigned to the work unit (Assembly, Weld, Materials, Quality, etc.) will be considered first. If a suitable candidate is not identified, all other eligible candidates will be considered. Failure to attend a scheduled interview (No Show), without notice, will result in being ineligible for future roles for 6 months. If selected for the position, you are required to move into the position upon the effective date. If you are no longer interested in the position, you must withdraw prior to an offer being presented. If unable to accept the position as expected, you will be ineligible for future roles for 1 year from the date of refusal.

Base Pay Range:

Base Pay Range: $24.66 - $29.47 Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship will not be provided. To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
