Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Manager of Maintenance in Dallas to oversee the complete operation of the maintenance facility.

The role requires leadership of up to 20 staff, ensures a safe, efficient work environment, and coordinates with operations on vehicle maintenance and reporting. Responsibilities include supervising hiring/training, monitoring turnover, actionable corrective plans, and maintaining inventory; staying compliant with DOT and OSHA standards, and coordinating with vendors for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• Maintenance vocational experience preferred.
• One year of professional experience per year of college requested.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the complete operation of the maintenance facility.
• Create and maintain a safe yet efficient work environment.
• Supervisory functions and personnel management: hiring, training, evaluating, assisting employees with work related issues, employee scheduling, and productivity reviews.
• Monitor employee turnover at the shop level and implement morale/retention improvements.
• Provide daily reports of out-of-service equipment and coordinate with operations.
• Maintain parts and tire inventory for cost-effective maintenance and service.
• Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Diagnose engine management/fuel injection components problems.
• Coordinate maintenance at nearby Dedicated Accounts and ensure policy adherence.
