Job summary

XPO is seeking a Shop Supervisor in Dallas to lead maintenance staff and contractors, schedule work, and guide promotions and terminations. You will oversee routine maintenance on class 7 and 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment, ensuring safety and productivity.

A minimum of 2 years in fleet maintenance or management, a valid driver's license, and leadership experience are required. CDL and ASE certifications are a plus, with opportunities for growth and company incentives.

Qualifications

• 2 years of fleet maintenance or management experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• Current CDL.
• ASE Certifications.
• 2 years leadership experience.
• Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry experience.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead and motivate others.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance employees and contract workers, including hiring, scheduling, work assignments, and promotions/terminations.
• Observe, mentor, develop and review the performance and progress of mechanics and shop employees.
• Oversee routine maintenance functions on class 7 and 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment per schedules.
• Ensure all work orders are closed accurately and timely.
• Perform safety inspections and document safety.
• Minimize equipment downtime.
• Monitor sale and disposition of retired and scrapped equipment.
• Manage shop cost and parts in tracking system.
• Communicate with service centers on repairs and parts needed.
• Inventory control and core refunds processing.
• Monitor reports to ensure compliance.
• Support leadership at outlying centers via the shop.
• Facilitate the JSP annual shift bid process.
• Review trends in parts utilization and uptime for efficiency.
• Ensure company DOT policies and standard work instructions are followed.
