Job summary

Clearwater Paper is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright to support the Cypress Bend mill. The role requires proficiency in at least one primary craft and the ability to work safely across multiple crafts.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and an associate degree in electro/mechanical tech or industrial maintenance. Expect a demanding, 10- to 12-hour shift with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in Electro/mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance highly desired.
• Minimum 5 years of continuous work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred.
• Certified in one or more of the site's recognized mechanical primary crafts.
• Able to demonstrate skills and work independently in certified crafts.
• Understand and follow manufacturing safety procedures including PPE.

Responsibilities

• Maintain machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and reduce downtime.
• Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment within the mill environment.
• Safely operate a variety of tools and company vehicles (forklift, overhead crane, clamp truck).
• Adhere to safety policies, participate in incident investigations, and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Ensure environmental compliance and proper documentation of procedures.

Job Summary

The Millwright position for the maintenance team at the Cypress Bend location, is responsible for maintaining machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine down-time. An experienced Millwright is already certified in one or more of our primary mechanical crafts and can demonstrate skills immediately. We have a need for a qualified millwright to join our team.

Proficiently perform at least one (1) of the recognized primary mechanical crafts and act as a knowledgeable helper in all other recognized primary crafts including:

• Millwright
• Machinist
• HVAC
• Electrical
• Instrumentation
• Change out equipment
• Safely operate a variety of tools (power, machine shop, gasoline powered, hand tools, etc.)
• Safely operate company vehicles including forklift, overhead crane, clamp truck
• Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, safe driving practices, proper lifting techniques, etc.)
• Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
• Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirements

What you will need

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
• Associates degree in Electro/mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance highly desired
• Minimum 5 years continuous work experience in a high-speed manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment as a maintenance mechanic preferred
• Certified in one or more of the site's recognized mechanical primary crafts
• Able to demonstrate skills and perform work proficiently on his/her own in certified primary crafts
• Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 10 or 12-hour shift
• Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
• Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
• Able to work a primarily 10-hour shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.
