  • Plan job steps and resources: labor, materials, services, tools, and instructions.
  • Write or update work instructions and collaborate with engineers as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for scope clarification and quotes.
  • Update PM lists and equipment BOMs for accurate planning.
  • Assemble and issue comprehensive job packages to improve communication and quality.
  • Monitor planning backlog and accuracy; drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize SAP for planning, requisitions, and parts tracking.

Maintenance Mechanical Planner page is loaded## Maintenance Mechanical Plannerlocations: Deer Park, TXtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: 2026-001185# What You'll Be Doing**Job Scope:** The Maintenance Planner is expected to follow the maintenance workflow process to maximize effectiveness of the crafts and overall maintenance function. This role will interact regularly with maintenance staff, craftsmen, operation UTL s, and management. Requires a good understanding of and experience with accepted industry practices for planning work, materials, services, technical information, and a good understanding of safe work practices in a chemical plant.**Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:*** Follow the Hexion standard maintenance work flow process* Interact with operation UTL s in the screening of work notifications to ensure that the scope of work, equipment involved, priority, and expected completion date is understood and realistic* Walk job area to clarify scope of work and expectations; take field measurements as needed, and document field information for job plan* Expertise in planning out job steps and resources which include labor, materials, services, special tools, work instructions, technical information, drawings, safe work permitting, etc.* Write work instructions where standard work instructions do not exist; collaborate with discipline specialists and engineers as needed for work instructions* Understand basics of all typical maintenance crafts, and know who to contact as specialized resources for planning details* Communicate with venders to clarify job scope and obtain quotes for materials and services* Coordinate regular updates with internal customers to facilitate communication on job planning progress and obstacles* Responsible for preventive maintenance planning in collaboration with discipline specialists and engineers; update task lists as needed to maintain accurate PM job plans; update equipment BOM s as needed to maintain accurate parts lists for planning* Assemble and issue job packages; drive continuous improvement in the completeness of the job package as a communication and quality management tool for the maintenance work process* Monitor and maintain planning backlog within targeted control limits* Monitor planning accuracy versus target, and drive continuous improvement* Requires significant use of SAP in work planning, issuing material/service requisitions, warehouse parts reservations, and tracking parts delivery* Other duties as assigned.# Ideal Background**Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent is required.**Certification:** AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.**Experience:** Requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:*** Experience as job planner or estimator* Experience in a chemical plant or in heavy industry* Experience in planning in SAP* Ability to use Microsoft Office suite* Ability to perform internet searches for job materials or services* Able to read and interpret vender manuals and drawings* Able to communicate clearly and effectively to craftsmen/operators, venders/suppliers, other departmental staff, and management* Able to organize and plan jobs, and develop job cost estimates* Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices* Highly motivated, energetic, and self-directed* Able to work effectively in a matrix team environment**Physical Requirements:*** Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.# Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a \"team mentality\" so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
