Job summary

Darigold’s Sunnyside whey plant is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair plant equipment. The role emphasizes fabrication and sanitary welding, as well as servicing rotating machinery and supporting special projects.

Ideal candidates will troubleshoot electrical motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics, read P&ID drawings, and maintain meticulous records using CMMS. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and any shift is required for this role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Formal education in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanitary welding and stainless steel fabrication.
• Maintain rotating machinery and electrical motors/controls.
• Troubleshoot production equipment and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Interpret P&ID, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Maintain CMMS work orders and records.

Job description

Darigold is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to be a part of Darigold’s Sunnyside team in our whey plant. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain and repair all plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic’s role is to maintain and repair plant machinery and assist with special projects, which include fabrication and sanitary welding.

What You Will Do

• Proven sanitary welding experience
• Proven stainless steel fabrication and welding skills
• Experience maintaining and repairing rotating machinery
• Experience in trouble shooting and repair of production equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical motors and controls
• Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and boilers
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to interpret P&ID, mechanical, and electrical drawings
• Understanding and experience of preventive maintenanc
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and maintain equipment and records
• Understanding and working knowledge of CMMS systems and work orders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong team player
• Must be available to work any shift including nights and weekends

What You Bring

3-5 years manufacturing maintenance or related experience

Formal education in a related field preferred

Pay

$32 to $36/hr
