Description
Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair all mechanical equipment and basic electrical controls necessary to support production machines and facility functions at specified levels.
- Diagnose equipment problems and plan repairs, including disassembly, reassembly, fabrication, rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follow supervisor instructions and implement emergency and scheduled repairs. Conduct facility and equipment inspections and initiate repairs as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment in collaboration with other Maintenance personnel.
- This role requires being "on call" nights and weekends on a rotating basis with department members.
Qualifications:Required- Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in metal fabrication, machining, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Experience with operator controls and interfaces.
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Instrument calibration knowledge.
- Basic electrical skills to work alongside Maintenance team members.
Preferred- Knowledge of PLC software and ladder logic for troubleshooting and operator interfaces is a plus.
- Own tools (mechanical and basic electrical) are required.
Position Demands- Work environment includes varying air temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors.
- Potential hazards include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation risks.
Protective Equipment- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe), safety glasses, bump caps, protective gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and other PPE as required.
Physical Demands- Lift at least 50 pounds.
- Push or pull objects up to 250 pounds.
- Work 12-hour shifts.
- Perform repetitive tasks and various physical activities including reaching, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and balancing, often in tight spaces.
- Maintain good vision, depth perception, and focus.
