Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Chittenango, NY facility to install, troubleshoot, and maintain plant production equipment in an aerospace-grade environment.

This full-time position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a 5% quarterly bonus potential, with competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour plus shift differentials. Overtime may be available and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand documents; communicate with team members and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain supplies to support maintenance functions.
• Provide basic maintenance support for startup operations (lights, dust collectors, air filtration).
• Monitor equipment to detect malfunctions and coordinate repairs with supervisors.
• Dismantle defective machines and install repaired parts.
• Install and maintain pipe systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment; design/assemble control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Communicate with operators before and after repairs.
• Maintain the physical workspace and adhere to safety policies.

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies to support all maintenance functions.
• Responsible for basic maintenance support for startup operations such as, lights, dust collectors, air filtration systems, etc.
• Monitor machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replace Design, assemble and install electronic control systems for production machinery and associated automated equipment’s gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair machine level control systems, which utilize programmable logic controllers.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Communicate with operators pre- and post-repair.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• Follow lock-out/tag out procedures.
• Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Requirements:

• Education: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experienced Forklift drivers preferred.
• Language skills: Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, and leadership.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and diagram form.
• The ability to be reliable, work overtime as needed, and be committed to working at our Chittenango, NY facility.

Working Conditions:

• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
• The physical effort applied in this job includes lifting, pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, or shoveling.
• Manufacturing requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
