Job summary

Welch's is seeking a seasoned Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to keep our production lines and facility equipment running safely and reliably at our Lawton, Michigan facility. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and prep seasonal equipment to support production needs.

You’ll work closely with plant operations to identify root causes, reduce downtime, and improve equipment performance, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• At least four years of relevant industrial maintenance or machine repair experience.
• Experience in food, beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely around complex, automated equipment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Journeyperson certification preferred.
• Associate degree in relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install production and processing equipment.
• Support refrigeration systems, boilers, wastewater operations, facilities, gas wells, and seasonal equipment.
• Diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Prepare equipment and systems for seasonal production needs.
• Partner with production and processing teams to understand equipment priorities.
• Recommend improvements to equipment performance, maintenance procedures, and plant operations.
• Assist with job estimates, work scheduling, and cost control.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow safety, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.

Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Pay: $29.22 per hour

About The Role

Welch’s is looking for an experienced Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to keep our production, processing, and facility equipment operating safely and reliably.
In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot problems, complete preventive and corrective maintenance, and prepare seasonal equipment to support production requirements. You will work closely with plant operations to identify root causes, reduce downtime, and improve equipment performance.
This position is based at our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Lawton, Michigan.

• Follow all safety, food safety, sanitation, housekeeping, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities

What You’ll Bring

• At least four years of relevant industrial maintenance or machine repair experience
• Experience in food, beverage, or another high-speed manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• The ability to identify root causes and complete effective repairs
• The ability to work safely around complex, automated equipment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
• An associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred
• Journeyperson certification is preferred
