Job summary

Channell is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, fix, and improve equipment used in plastics and metals operations. This role emphasizes safe practices, adherence to schedules, and collaboration with production teams to meet daily targets.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
• Electrical skills are a plus.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills, as well as strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 30/50 pounds; wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance on schedule to minimize downtime.
• Perform reactive maintenance on production lines; repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot to identify and implement equipment improvements.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machines.
• Coordinate with operators to meet daily production schedules.
• Start up and shut down all production equipment.
• Inspect equipment and verify proper operation.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
